Spring Outdoor

NCSC sponsors a spring recreational program for youth 9 to 13 years old. Registration is done on a team basis and begins in January. League play starts in late March or early April and ends mid-May annually.

Coaches considering taking a team to a Spring League should request sponsorship by the Board in early January of each year. Teams are allowed on a-first come, first serve basis. Field availability will be the criteria used for how many teams play under the NCSC umbrella in spring outdoor play. NCSC will sponsor no more than four Spring teams.

NCSC teams have participated in the Willamette Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) League and the Portland Youth Soccer Association (PYSA) League. Details follow below.

Fields are designed by size criteria regulated by OYSA and WYSA and other Soccer Associations. The Board will have final say as to what field(s) will be assigned for play depending on the age group of the requesting team. Weather conditions in the spring often require teams to practice on one field and play on another, and game fields may be moved depending on field conditions There are usually 8 games depending on the specific league.

Individual clubs are responsible for providing League and Team fees, fields, and referees for home games in both leagues. Therefore, a per player fee will be charged to cover the expenses which come out of allowing the teams to play. Some of these expenses include: field permits, WYSA or PYSA Team fees, OYSA player fees if the player/coach is not already registered, field striping/painting, referee fees, if any, and other administrative required fees.

Teams will be required to follow individual League regulations, OYSA Regulations and Club rules.

NCSC will support the recreational teams with uniforms and equipment. Classic teams will be responsible for providing their own uniforms and equipment.

Questions about spring play can be presented at any Board meeting.
