Mini Soccer Program
North Clackamas Soccer Club offers a program for First and Second graders to allow them to experience the game of soccer while continuing to learn the skills necessary to play the game and have fun.
This program is called our MINI program. We divide up the first and second graders to allow for more fair and equal level of play.
Our 1st grade program continues to focus on learning the important skills of the game such as dribbling, footwork and passing.
Our 2nd grade program continues to focus on the learning the important skills of the game but begins to implement some of the rules changes to make it more like "traditional" soccer. This is done to help prepare the children that want to continue to play in the recreational program as 3rd graders.
The mini program focuses on the "Fun and Fundamentals" of the game. Our goal is the provide all the children a safe and positive environment that provides them the opportunity to be successful at their current level of play and prepares them to be successful as they continue in the game of soccer.
Your practice days/times are to be determined, and your coach will give you more information.
1st GRADE MINI SOCCER RULES
Team size 4 players vs 4 players
Length of game: Four (12) twelve minute quarters. With 3 minutes breaks between each quarter. (May be adaptable due to time constraints)
Length of Field: The entire length of the field will be used with one goal placed on each end line.
Substitutions: Substitutions are allowed at any dead ball (out of bounds or whistle). Unlimited substitutions are allowed when ball is out of play or a goal is scored.
Coaches referee the games, explaining infractions to players as they occur.
Throw-in: Coach will explain the rules and one re-throw is allowed after an explanation. After the rethrow, must allow play to continue. We do not want long stoppages in the game.
Goal Kick: These will happen when the offensive team is the last to touch the ball before it crosses the end line. Goal kicks may be taken from any point near the goal area.
Corner Kick: We will not use corner kicks at this age level. If the defensive team kicks the ball across the end line, a throw in from the end line by the offensive team will be taken.
No Offside will be called at this age level.
